Creating an Ethical Culture
Issue: A multi-industry holding company and sovereign wealth fund wanted to create a proactive governance structure to respond to incidents of fraud, corruption or risk that could damage their company assets and reputation. Risks also included those associated with data loss.
Strategy & Insight: A series of stakeholder interviews were conducted In order to understand the unique culture of this international firm. The interviews uncovered a number of insights which formed the brand attributes and pillars for the overall communication campaign. It was decided the message should assure the workforce
that “whistleblowers” would be protected against repercussions.
In the first three months following the launch, the number of calls to the hotline exceeded the entire call volume for the previous year.
Execution: Protiviti was engaged to develop an incident management framework to help the organization respond swiftly and effectively in the event of an ethical violation. Once the framework was in place, the Creative Options team proceeded
to design a print and interactive awareness campaign to promote the new response framework and data security procedures to the broader employee base.
Results: In the first three months following the launch the number of calls to the hotline exceeded the entire call volume for the previous year; a clear signal that the messaging resonated with the broader workforce.
